PRLog (Press Release)– Apr 13, 2011– The Little Black Dress Club is proud to announce the official launch of its Clarksville, Tennessee Chapter with a Legends of the Little Black Dress Party!
"We are very excited about the official launch of the Little Black bmw Dress Club in Clarksville, says National Director, Angee Billingsley. "Women here now have an opportunity to connect with other women in a fun and friendly way." Lisa Breece, a member of the Nashville chapter for over a year and a half, will coordinate events in the Clarksville area. Lisa has enjoyed the so much, she would like to share that experience with progressive ladies in Clarksville. She is planning events at The Pottery Room (ceramics), Diann's Greenhouse (herb gardening and cooking), as well as happy hours, attending local events and carpooling to events with the Nashville chapter.
Co-founders Christine Zellers and Jenny Holzer first came up with the idea in 2006 when discussing ways to meet new friends. They decided to create their own fun by starting a women's social networking group in Washington, DC. According to the founders, a group like this is a mu cadillac st-have in women's lives, just like the little black dress is a staple in every woman's wardrobe. "It can be difficult to find like-minded friends if you are looking for an adventure," says Zellers. "The LBDC is the perfect solution to this conundrum."
The club keeps things interesting by appealing to the many interests of its members. For example, Holzer and Zellers like to sail and enjoy skiing and diving vacations, while other members like to keep it low key and relaxed with wine tastings and happy hours. In Clarksville, Director Billingsley plans to sponsor a variety of events for local members. "Since members are welcome at any of our events, Clarksville already has an active group of women who have been participating in our alfa romeo events in Nashville for awhile. I am excited to bring more events to the local area."
Zellers and Holzer envision the club branching out to other countries, but their current priority is training directors in club management. "This is a great opportunity for women to gain experience in networking, marketing and event planning," says Zellers. "We are creating career development opportunities for our directors as we broaden our reach."
Local merchants gain exposure by offering discounts for their products and services to members, such as free m aston martin ovie tickets, discounts at spas and beauty stores, and exclusive, unique events such as wine tastings and happy hours.
